Comprehensive Web-Based Application for Interactive and Immersive Language Learning

Abstract
Knowledge of another language offers significant advantages, providing individuals with a broader perspective on the world and its diverse cultures. Learning a second language, in addition to one's native tongue, is increasingly accessible due to the internet's role in modern education. Web-based learning, a term referring to computer-enhanced education, is a dynamic alternative for language acquisition. The advent of web technologies and high-speed internet has revolutionized educational methods, enabling diverse opportunities for language learning. This study examines e-learning from a general perspective and focuses on web-based learning, providing guidance for learners on effectively using the web to acquire a language. Based on a comprehensive literature review, the study is divided into four sections. The first section explores the theoretical foundation of web-based learning. The second discusses its objectives, emphasizing its potential to enhance language education. The third section highlights the roles of online learners and teachers, emphasizing collaboration and interactivity. Finally, the fourth section outlines various online teaching-learning activities, such as chat rooms, virtual meetings, and pen-pal tools, which support English language learning. This paper offers practical insights for individuals seeking to learn English online and underscores the significance of leveraging internet resources for effective language acquisition.
